Clipping, Scissoring, Carding & Hand-Stripping

Clipping:

Most breeds are clipped, the legs & head are always trimmed using scissors. It is not possible to maintain any length of coat using clippers.

Scissoring:

Breeds such as the Bichon Frisé are almost always scissor cut. I often scissor cut Toy & Miniature Poodles and also sometimes Westies and Labradoodles whos owners prefer to maintain certain amount of length.

Carding & Hand-Stripping:

Carding is a technique in which the soft downy undercoat is pulled from the dogs body.

Hand-Stripping is a technique in which the outer guard coat is plucked from the dog's skin, This procedure helps to promote the proper coat texture and rich colour of the breed.
