Bathing:

Getting the bathing right is the foundation of a good groom and my goal is to get your dog really clean. Central to Scruffy To Fluffy Grooming Services is a state of the art dog hydrobath with its double tank facility the shampoo comes through the hose and I am able to ensure that the correct mix of shampoo and water penetrate through your dogs coat. Make no mistake this is not a quick wash & go solution! The Scruffy To Fluffy Hydro Bath service is a highly efficient and extremely effective bathing system, the specialised technique enables me to shampoo your dog through a pressurized shower hose and I am able to get deep into the coat and down to the skin removing all dirt & grim. This is no ordinary bathing system, every effort is put into ensuring your dog has a thorough wash and comes back to you clean and fresh.

Shampoo and Skin Care:

I use Ph neutral chemical free first class dog purpose shampoos that do not cause skin irritations to the animal or the user.

If your dog is hyper-sensitive I use a special veterinary grade shampoo which contains Evening Primrose Oil, which is a well-known traditional essential oil renown for improving the coat. This shampoo will also benefit if your dog has dry flaky skin. Incidentally "You are what you eat".... and so is your dog! If your dog has a continued problem with dry, flakey and inflamed skin (sometimes referred to as hot spots) you should avoid high amounts of fats & protein such as milk and cheese also avoid any food that contains wheat and gluten, feed your dog fresh vegetables especially broccoli, carrots and peas, you will soon see an improvement.

Mobile Dog Hydrobath Specification:

Without the correct equipment it would be very difficult to bath and groom a dog properly in a confined area such as a van. Mobile dog grooming is very popular in Australia, mainly because of the climate and size of the country and as a result the Australians have perfected and engineered the mobile dog hydrobath technology. I have imported one of these specially designed hydrobath's and installed it in my van. Within this bath is a thermostatically controlled heated twin tank with a holding capacity of 30 litres and a wash tank of 12 litres. The tanks are fully filtered so clean heated water is used all the time. This unique and cleverly designed bathing system enables me to give your dog an extremely good wash using chemical free shampoos and an extremely good rinse using clean heated water.

This is Neville enjoying his hydrobath, Neville is a regular customer as he frequently perfumes himself in fox pooh!

Drying:

Drying is a combination of towel drying, followed by warm air fluff drying. Breeds such as Rough Collies, Shelties & Border Collies for example also benefit from a high velocity blaster blow-out both before and after the bath in order to remove loose and dead coat. Please Note: I do not use cage driers.

Clipping & Scissor Cutting:

Your dog is groomed to the breed standard cut or to your specific requirements, see gallery page for some examples.
